Scotland’s First Community Tidal Turbine

Interesting take on this as the Community of North Yell is installing this between the Isles of Yell and Unst to power an ice plant and industrial estate. This has a potential to support many island communities but the size and construction of this turbine has to stand years of wave and tide action in extremely hostile waters. Hydraulic action is one of the most powerful forces in nature and in comparison with other offshore tidal power generators, this seems incredibly fragile. However sometimes in nature less is more and we will be watching with interest.

Slightly mad. Always believes a cup is half full so continues to tilt at Wind Turbines and the politicians that seem to believe it is their god given right to ruin Scotland for a pot of fool's gold.
