Perhaps just a tall tale but fun all the same

About Dougal Quixote

Slightly mad. Always believes a cup is half full so continues to tilt at Wind Turbines and the politicians that seem to believe it is their god given right to ruin Scotland for a pot of fool's gold.

    • Makes a fun story though. I did come across a true story years ago about a guy that worked for British Nuclear Fuels for some ten years, drawing a salary and pay rises but actually had never been employed by them. He got caught eventually when he took the company plane to Sellafield and charged car mileage too. Crazy though it seems until that time no one actually knew what he did but knew him well! I met him many times as he used to come into the aeroclub bar with the others when the plane came back in the evening. Unbelievable it may be but in this case it was actually true. He was quietly “dismissed” and nothing more was said about it despite defrauding the company of tens of thousands of pounds. Too embarrassing I dare say!

I agree it’s a good story, if sadly untrue. I imagine that working in rather specialist subjects such as nuclear power would make it easier to “pull the wool” over other peoples eyes.

What’s more worrying are the genuine reports from time to time of fake doctors, pilots, etc who really do put peoples lives at risk. Or the 650 odd MP’s, who (in most cases) have little practical experience in their roles…

  2. I think we should probably worry about the MPs more. They can do more damage.
