SHAMED ex-energy secretary Chris Huhne has landed a lucrative job — with an ENERGY firm.
He has been plunged into a conflict of interest row for taking it on so soon after leaving office.
The latest register of MPs’ interests shows Huhne — who is waiting to stand trial alongside ex-wife Vicky Pryce over an alleged speeding scam — is working as a consultant for the firm.
It boasts of being poised to deliver the Government’s “green deal” drive to make homes more energy efficient.*
Last month he got £20,500, made up of a £10,000 signing-on fee and advance payments of £3,500 for October, November and December.
That is for doing just eight hours a month, an hourly rate of £437.50, Labour MP Tom Blenkinsop said it raised questions about whether Huhne was benefiting from insider knowledge
