Has the MCofS ever considered this as a result of their present policy? They campaign to defend mountains and wild places against windfarms but support Scottish Govt. policy on wind energy and onshore windfarms in suitable locations. Does that mean near communities? If not, then where?

    • MCof S are rather influenced by a wide membership many of whom are urban based. That creates a conflict of interests with some members who are advocates of Climate Change. Therein lies there problem and the reason for their rather disconnected opposition to wind. It is a bit like us saying go and build them on the hills as long as they are not in our back yard. Divide and rule. They should get behind the anti wind movement rather than prevaricating. This comes back to the element of Political Correctness seen in every large organisation that manages to print a paragraph on their support for Climate Change in every letter or communication that they send out. One could question what the millions of metres of extra paper this requires is doing to the planet! We are surrounded by over educated fools!
