Miracles do happen!

Well we were due some good news. The Minister Fergus Ewing turned down Dunbeath Wind Farm near Wick in Caithness today. Usual preamble about how good wind is for us, no doubt written by an Energy Consents wind enthusiast but the concluding paragraph is what is important. Needless to say not included in the BBC report, the statement is enlightening:

“The significant adverse impacts of this proposed wind farm on nearby wild land and key landscape characteristics in conjunction with the cumulative effects with other wind farms and visual impacts on recreational and road users is too great.”

Let us hope that this refusal is like a London Bus. Wait hours for one and then three come along at once.

About Dougal Quixote

Slightly mad. Always believes a cup is half full so continues to tilt at Wind Turbines and the politicians that seem to believe it is their god given right to ruin Scotland for a pot of fool's gold.
