Ed Davey’s recent comment about beating Stone Age objectors to wind is below contempt. That a Secretary of State has made these comments shows that he is not fit for office and should be removed forthwith. High office carries with it certain responsibilities and Davey is not man enough to carry such responsibilities. That the barking mad Greg Barker has also recently been making statements supporting wind suggests their paymasters are having a hissy fit and that Cancer at the centre of Energy, The DECC, is in real trouble. Now we have Davey acting up to the Lib-Dim conference suggesting higher strike prices for Island wind. Obviously he considers the Islands far enough away from the Mainland for the residents to be unaware what a busted flush today’s Lib-Dim pasty, sorry party but then again I may have been right first time, really is. The truth is that strike price or not the Western Isles HVDC and the Orkney inter-connector are simply beyond the financial viability of the energy availability. And he knows it! He is simply squealing like a stuck pig. This is Cameron’s last chance saloon to kick Davey into the long grass. Boris Johnson latest comments on his horror on seeing the devastation wrought to Scotland and his push to Nuclear and Fracked Gas says it all. Davey, collect your P45 and take Barker with you!
What Cameron must realise is the the break up of the UK will not be won by the Yes supporters of Scottish Indepencence but by the behaviour of the UK Government under his watch. Not so much that Salmond may yet win but that Cameron will throw the match. And the likes of Davey and Barker will excel in doing it for him unless he gets control of them, sends Davey back to Croyden with his breakfasts of coffee and greek yoghurt, and appoints someone with an IQ of more than 5 in charge of our energy future. He will find plenty amongst those one hundred good men and true that oppose the DECC wind fantasy!
