Samsung are building a Giant Wind Turbine at Methil on the Forth. The factory to make the turbine blades is in Denmark and was built with £6.5 million from the Scottish Government. As this is a test turbine could we ask the question why was it not built in the test site off Donald Trump’s Golf Course. Otherwise we might suggest that it is not a test site but a very big off-shore turbine built on-shore. Although 40m off-shore now, the energy park intends to claim the land around it. May we also suggest that this may be the way that on-shore wind farms may progress in the future. Re-engineering of life expired turbines has already meant much larger models. This short video will be instructive. The photo is instructive as this is how the Scottish Government and the Wind Industry indoctrinate school children to believe that wind is necessary and that Anthropogenic Climate Change is an agreed science. Children and construction sites should never be mixed. No safety barriers here. Slings are on tower section and there is a danger that they may come loose. Those hard hats would do nothing to prevent tragic accident. If you want to show them the new turbine they should be at a safe distance and behind safety barriers. This breaches about every site Health and Safety rule going! But then this is in the promotion of wind!

Slightly mad. Always believes a cup is half full so continues to tilt at Wind Turbines and the politicians that seem to believe it is their god given right to ruin Scotland for a pot of fool's gold.

  1. Ivor Ward says:

The tube is propped on two crumbling bits of wood with the children placed in the perfect position if it gives way. Brilliant……

    • I am more concerned on the two steel strops over the tower section. To carry that weight they will be very heavy and if one broke loose, and it does happen, it could easily decapitate a couple of those kids.
