Church Avarice

church avarice

Many moons ago I was in the position of offering a number of holidays at the seaside to disadvantaged families. I phoned our local vicar and asked if he could identify some needy parishioners  “I don’t know anyone like that and anyway I have a church conference to go to and dinner with the Bishop” was the response that I got. Seems to me that the Church and the real Christianity are now far removed. “Must be balanced with an eye to the common good” sits uncomfortably with those less able in our community who are now suffering fuel poverty, mostly caused by the Rush to Wind and Politicians renewable policies. Now I remember well the bible and I seem to remember the teachings are to support all, especially those less lucky in life’s lottery. It would seem that all the church does now is count the shekels and we know what Christ did to the moneylenders.

About Dougal Quixote

Slightly mad. Always believes a cup is half full so continues to tilt at Wind Turbines and the politicians that seem to believe it is their god given right to ruin Scotland for a pot of fool's gold.
