Off-shore wind – a bolt too far?

Truth is that at sea, turbines are the only thing ‘earthed’. So we have Earth(scour on bases), Wind(intermittent and unreliable) and Fire(lightening strikes). Add in rust from a saline environment and grout that shakes loose due to the vibration and you really do have a perfect storm which suggests that off-shore wind will have a very short life.
